Malawi born single mother and self employed BBA The Chase former housemate left the Chase with her head high up above the skies. She did her country and indeed Africa proud by her representation and entertainment. Natasha gave Africa a reason to spend so much time to watch the number reality TV show in the continent. To show how please I am, this is the first tribute I would write for a former house mate this season.
Natasha presented what is widely perceived to be her real self. She gave Africa the entertainment she promised them before she went into the game proper. She didn’t disappoint. And the moment the chase began, her fellow chasers noticed she was a tough competition and a threat to their chances and did all they could to chase her out of the game. Even the Zambian, Sulu who was her closest ally and confidant, a man she respected so much failed her the most at the end. But like he said, it was a game after all. The BBA chasers have always been reminded by IK to keep sentiments and emotions aside when they have to nominate. True, life is a game but even in a game, there has to be conscience. One do not have to betray a friend or pay back good with betrayal just because he is gaming.
Africa on several occasions saved Natasha as well as Pokello and Annabel and this sent jitters in the spine of the other housemates who didn’t hide it. It was clear to all of them including Natasha herself that Africa was with her and she was playing the game to their utmost satisfaction. It was just that this time around, The Chase most loved, most responsible , most focused and most committed and honourable house mate and three time and current head of House at the time, Nigerian born Melvin was in the chop board as well ( Melvin was put up for eviction for the fact that he opted out of the save and win decision this time around after his emotional breakdown on two previous occasions when all he swapped were evicted). Let’s take a look at how Africa voted again.
South Africa: Pokello
Sierra Leone: Melvin
Rest of Africa: Melvin
Total: Melvin = 5; Annabel = 3; Cleo = 2, Pokello = 2, Natasha = 2, Selly = 1. (Total: 15 Votes)
Please Note: The tie breaker rules were applied Pokello, Natasha and Cleo as they each had two popularity votes, the Housemate with the lowest average percentage across all countries was Natasha.
If you look through, you could see how tough it was for all the Chasemates up against Melvin. With Melvin in there Africa couldn’t take chances to see him out and then you have Natasha, Pokello and Cleo all tough choices for Africa. If you go through the profile of the incoming fake Emerald housemates all this names where the top housemates they looked forward to meet. This is a game of chess, there has to be losers and winners. We could be in for more shockers especially if certain fans go to bed believing their favourites are so popular in Africa and untouchable. If your star is popular and you don’t vote, sorry! It happened to Jodie in the first and only edition of West Africa idols.
Natasha’s chase ended on Sunday but that was the beginning of her walk into stardom in Malawi, COSAFA and the rest of Africa. She left the show as one of the biggest, brightest and most entertaining stars ever in the Big Brother show. Africa will miss the Saturdays Natasha show which I believe has been used to train, prepare her and expose her hidden talent in talk show host. I am convinced she will be welcomed to a heroines reception back home and endorsements will be her portion and promoters and producers will scramble for her signatures to host talk shows and interviews.
Africa will miss Natasha as on every body’s lips ‘what will be of the show after Natasha’. She was the life of the Ruby house and since her departure, it has been very boring. Her eviction it has watered down Sulu’s own entertainment as it is no longer exciting but now looks unreal. Sulu is no longer out to entertain but now more interested in the money and scheming.
Africa will miss Natasha’s smiles and her fashion. She used the show to promote her native fashion and by extension Africa’s. I will miss her fight with Elikem and those sometimes annoying quarrels. But that’s Natasha for you. We all have our weaknesses and how we manage them is what makes us unique. Africa didn’t have a problem with her on that. She felt she was being oppressed especially by Elikem and other males and she didn’t hide her feelings.
During her diary session with biggie after the evictions, Dilish revealed to big brother she liked natsha when they met because Natasha was not what others had told her. She said Natasha was entertaining and was a mother figure. This was a true talk from an unbiased chasemate who isn’t selfish with her opinions. And we know that just like Natasha, Dillish is one chasemate who has chosen to be real. She has refused so far to enter into an unreal relationship just because she wants to win 300 000 dollars. She has made it clear she has a boy friend and a life outside the game and won’t betray that.
Natasha, mama Africa farewell and enjoy the fame BBA has brought to you. Winning the cash is not everything. I am convinced if Big brother will have a second edition of BBA former stars returns, you will be in the game again. You have had a good chase for me and you have got it, take a good advantage of it and every opportunity. Enjoy the money and don’t forget to share some with me. Send my kisses to your daughter and family.
